Waiting for the Eugene Celebration Parade...clapping for the band...and playtime at home...

Here I am with my new puffer fish... and trying to look like my new puffer fish. (Thanks, George and Jacquie!)
Next two shots are to show off how cooperative I am about bedtime ("Just one more book, please?" and "Bedtime? Are you crazy? I can CRAWL!")

Winona has a new playspace in our house... she's giving it a drumroll welcoming.

A couples of shots from last night's gig.

Just got back from a great trip to Wisconsin! Unfortunately, didn't have the digital camera with us, so we'll send out some old fashioned photos soon... Had a fabulous time on Lake Michigan with family, then headed to Madison for a fun and exhausting wedding weekend with friends. SO fun for me to introduce Winnie to Wisconsin-- and all the love of her family and the gammas!

The littlest angel...

I went on my first camping trip last weekend... and I loved it. Ate lots of dirt, got bug bites and stayed cool in the shade of beateous old growth trees right on the river. It was a good celebration of the beginning of my very first summer! Happy summer, everyone...!

HEY! The blog is working again! Well, the blog has probably worked all along, but our inhouse technology has not... so now we should be fairly regular with our updates again! She's sitting up, eating carrots, zucchini, spinach and rice cereal, trying out some new word-like sounds and growing teeth like gangbusters.
more soon....! love j,m and w

Happy St. Patty's Day, from a big, gurgling, smiley (not well represented here, but she's smiling a lot!) baby....
Love, Winnie

Sleepy girl... after a long, hard day of eating.
She's a big talker now... lots of long, expressive stories to tell...
but, of course, she's a good listener, too! :) The sides of her head are almost completely bald now. It takes some creative hair placement to keep the mohawk from being too prevalent.
Love to everyone!

First Valentine's Day and First SNOWFALL! (not sure if that will translate in this pic or not, but there is snow coming down out there!) We don't get much of it here in the Willamette Valley, but it's coming down today. So far it's melting as it hits the ground, but temperatures are supposed to stay pretty low so we might actually get a SNOW DAY!
(Winnie doesn't usually wear a bib as an accessory, but this one says "Baby's First Valentine's Day," so if not today, when?)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! We miss you!

Lest anyone think that the dogs are any less spoiled...

Welcome to the world, Winnie! She's smiling, cooing, and interacting with us... and it's the most precious thing in the world for Mike and Julie. It's funny how each stage somehow feels like how it will always be...and then something changes and I'm reminded that she's a growing little being-- full of her own wondrous surprises.

Two months old and starting to respond to the world!

The next generation of Eugene family and friends...

This is Winnie with Cole, 5 1/2 mos. and Josey, 22 months. Winnie and Cole will be sharing a nanny when Julie goes back to work in March, so these two will be very good friends (we hope!)... And Josey, as you can see, is already the doting and adoring "big girl!"

7 weeks old today!
Little snuggler...

Mama and baby getting out of the house for a day of errands...including a story/ sing-along time at the library which Winnie slept through, and a little time at work for Julie, which Winnie did not sleep through...

My first meal served by Daddy
Winona is learning to eat breastmilk from the bottle--giving Julie a little more freedom and Mike a little more bonding time (the latter you can see before your very eyes in the pictures, no?). This was a big day: first bottle...and first yoga class. If you ever want to be thoroughly entertained, head to the nearest Mommy and Baby yoga class. Forget all notions of yoga being a quiet, meditative exercise. It was fun, though, and we'll be back. I was grateful to do the workout and Winona entertained herself doing some stretching and lifting on her own on the blanket next to me, letting out a loud squawk every once in a while to take part in the cacophony of baby cries and squeals around us. Funny.

My first summit
The sun came out for the first time in weeks today, so we hiked up Spencer's Butte. The year 2006 is off to a fabulous start!
