To kick-start the Celebration of All Things Mama Day, we started the day with strawberry pancakes.
Dad took care of the pancakes; I was in charge of the strawberries.

Then we did some gardening (which is a job I take very seriously).

After "nap," (I put this in quotes, because mom and dad still think I sleep. Shhh. Don't tell that I actually color, read, rearrange my room and cook in my kitchen during "nap" time). I digress....
After "nap," we went to a fun park for a picnic and playtime.
I found some cool stuff with my magnifying glass.
And Mother's Day is now my new favorite holiday, since it ended with a trip to a divine dessert cafe that serves wildberry gelato.
We had a little party for our mamas on Friday at preschool.
(As evidenced here, I am pretty indifferent to the affections and friendship of the girl to my left.)

In celebration of our family of three, which will soon be transformed into a family of four, we spent the weekend at the beauteous coast...

Sorry, Bodhi and Lucy. Make that "...family of 5... into family of 6."

We had a great time running, digging and exploring on the beach, watching movies, taking naps, eating yummy food and just being together!

Running back and forth across the COLD freshwater tributary was a highlight for me...
But not for Bodhi who had to be carried across after MUCH urging on our part and much exploring upstream for a dry crossing on his part. He's sort of a wuss.

Yoga with mama...(who edited out most pictures of her because until she saw the pics from this weekend, was not quite aware of how unbelieveably enormous she is.)

I wasn't totally convinced that this was fun,
but when mom says, "Smile!", I try to oblige. Sort of.
Treasure hunting, on the other hand, was more fun than I can possibly put into words. Crab shells were my favorite. I collected DOZENS! Whoa. It's HUGE!

I learned how to play "GO FISH!" which was okay when we played by mom and dad's rules, but it really picked up when I added a new rule.
"Whoever gets the next card has to hide, okay?"
Turned into a game of Hide and Go seek and mom and dad didn't even notice. Sometimes you have to sneak these things in.

The weather was stormy and rainy, then sunny and warm all weekend long, which made for really pretty skies and sunsets. We saw one rainbow but it "didn't stick," so I suggested that we "put some glue in the sky." Mom said that would be a good idea, but then didn't go and do it, so the rainbow faded...

But here's the sunset!

Tonight, my friend Cole is at my house. We're ready for "school" and "waiting for the bus." I'm telling him a story to pass the time.

He says some silly stuff sometimes. Makes me giggle.
... and still, no bus.

We had a group of friends over last night for a potluck /music jam--and we had a great time. At one point in the evening, I left my toddler/ preschool friends up in the loft, worked my way down the stairs and through the crowd to get my guitar. I pulled up a chair and started strummin' with the band.

Then, Daddy melted.

It's the season for...

picnics in the park,

and SOCCER!
I found the "no hands" rule really cramped my style.
So I ignored it.
I did eventually find the value and fun in KICKING!
...and was even convinced that kicking in into the goal was a good time!
But, truth be told, the most fun part of the evening was making silly faces and eating grass with my friend Cole.

Week 33...and counting!

I will do anything, ANYTHING I tell you, to get these blueberries to grow.
A few ditties for your listening pleasure. The first is not an original--nor was it my best take of the evening--but mom found my speed abc's rather entertaining. The second is an original, entitled: Baby Bird.

This afternoon, my friend Ladybug came over for sidewalk art, some soccer, and a picnic.

The rest of the weekend was filled with yard work and 'round the house activities while mom buzzed around murmuring things about "nesting" and "being ready."

Some highlights from my Saturday Night portfolio. I'm really into shapes and letters, but still recognize the beauty of a band of color...

I'm flailing my hands because I'm super excited about how tall this masterpiece is...

And finally, before I sign off, a word on behalf of the four footed members of our family. Below is a vision of Bodhi, trying to tell us that he would really rather stay home curled up in bed, thank you very much, than go out into the cold night for walk. He thinks he's hiding.

In preparation for tomorrow, a few shots from my morning with Mama and Papa:

Before

During

And After! I'm pointing to the one I like best.
Now, for some reason, these guys go into hiding tomorrow, which I'm not showing a tremendous amount of enthusiam for; but I'm starting to see a trend that when it comes to holidays, we do weird things that mom in particular gets really excited about. I humor her and usually end up having a pretty good time with it, too. So, I'm going to trust them on this whole Egg Hunt thing.

After an exhausting adventure at the park this morning, I found some sunshine to soak up while mom made lunch. Our bodies are suffering from mild shock from all of this Vitamin D and sudden bright light, but I'll take it. Life is good.
Mom was organizing baby clothes this weekend and stumbled across this fabulous treasure that somehow had not previously found its way into my dress up trunk. Thank goodness it was unearthed in time for Easter--that was CLOSE!
In other, less fun, news: I bonked my head pretty hard this evening. Blood, open wound, the whole bit. I was crying too hard to notice, but apparently Dad handles such situations really well, while mom (normally the rational and collected one as we all know, right? :) needed Dad to talk her off the ledge a few times. We'll blame the preggo hormones. I'm fine--the bleeding stopped pretty quickly and it's not nearly as bad as it originally seemed. Now, I'm fast asleep in mommy and daddy's bed so they can keep a close eye on me.

My aunt and uncle came to visit for a couple of days this week and we had so much fun together!

Turns out my Aunt Claudia knows the BEST songs ever. I taught her a few, too.

And Uncle Paul is great at reading bedtime stories about Skinny Brown dogs.
Today, on the way home from school, I asked if they were still at our house. Mom said no and I'm afraid I didn't take the news very well. It was such a fun visit, I'm very sad that it's over. Come back soon!
